Our curtains are made to measure. Simply enter the required curtain width and we will take care of the rest.

Step 1. Calculate the curtain track width

If you already have a curtain track, measure the full width of the track and continue to step 2.

If you do not have a curtain track yet, decide where you would like it to be fitted and calculate the required track width. We recommend allowing the track to extend approximately 20 cm beyond the window on each side, adding a total of 40 cm.

If you would like the curtains to cover the full width of the wall, measure the wall and subtract 2 cm.

Step 2a. Calculate the width for single and double pleat curtains

For single and double pleat curtains, the measurement you need to enter depends on the number of curtain panels:

• 1 curtain panel: track width + 5 cm
• 2 curtain panels: track width + 10 cm

You now have the correct curtain width. Enter this measurement on the website.

Step 2b. Calculate the width for wave curtains

For wave curtains, add 5 cm to the track width. The number of curtain panels does not affect the width you need to enter.

The position of the curtain track is important when calculating the correct height.

If you do not have a curtain track yet, first decide where you would like it to be fitted.

Calculating the height for single and double pleat curtains

If the track is fitted to the ceiling, measure from the ceiling to the floor.

If the track is fitted to the wall using wall brackets, measure from the top of the track to the floor.

Measure the height in three places: on the left, in the centre and on the right. Use the shortest measurement.

We will automatically deduct 1.5 cm so that the curtain hangs neatly above the floor. You do not need to make this deduction yourself.

Calculating the height for wave curtains

For wave curtains, make sure there is enough space in front of and behind the track. A 6 cm wave requires 7 cm of space in front of and behind the track. An 8 cm wave requires 9 cm of space in front of and behind the track.

Measure from the underside of the track to the floor.

Measure the height in three places: on the left, in the centre and on the right. Use the shortest measurement.

We will automatically deduct 1 cm so that the curtain hangs neatly above the floor. You do not need to make this deduction yourself.

The colour of the lining determines how the back of your curtain will look. This is especially noticeable from outside, for example from the street or from the garden.

Choose a colour that complements your window frames and the exterior of your home, or the look you would like to create from the outside. This way, your window decoration will look neat and well finished from both inside and outside your home.

Not sure which combination works best? Order free colour samples of both the curtain fabric and the lining. By placing the samples next to and behind one another at home, you can immediately see how the colours and materials work together.

Choose the spacing between the wave pleats: 6 cm or 8 cm.

6 cm

With 6 cm spacing, the wave curtain has more hooks, approximately 16 per meter.

8 cm

With 8 cm spacing, the wave curtain has fewer hooks, approximately 12 per meter.

Choose how you would like to divide your curtain. You can choose one panel or two equal panels.

One panel

If you choose one panel, you will receive one curtain covering the full width entered.

Two panels

If you choose two panels, the total width entered will be divided equally between two curtains.

Here you can fill in a reference for your assembled blind. That way you will soon know exactly which product is for which window in your house!

When you are looking for window coverings, it is important to determine beforehand what transparency you want in certain rooms. In bedrooms, for example, more blackout is usual than in the living room. Smartblinds fabrics can be divided into three different transparencies:

Blackout

Opacity: none - Light from outside is completely blocked and has no possibility to illuminate rooms.

Light filtering

Opacity: limited - Light from outside is obstructed, but not completely blocked.

Sheer

Opacity: full - Light from outside finds its way in, but the fabric offers the desired privacy.

Your blinds should, of course, match your interior. The colour and look of fabrics and materials can sometimes differ from reality from a screen or due to differences in light transmission. We therefore always recommend requesting free fabric samples in advance, so you can assess the fabric (colour) in real life!

A lining affects both the look and functionality of your Roman blind or curtain. It can help make the fabric appear fuller, improve insulation and allow you to better tailor the amount of light entering your room.

No lining

A good choice if you mainly want to preserve the appearance of the fabric and do not need extra insulation or blackout properties.

Light-filtering lining

Ideal if you would like extra insulation while still allowing natural light into your home. This lining also gives the Roman blind or curtain a more beautiful, fuller finish.

Blackout lining

The best choice for rooms where you want more privacy, insulation and blackout effect. Perfect, for example, for the bedroom or a room where bright light is unwanted.

Not sure which lining will suit best? Simply order free colour samples of both the Roman blind or curtain fabric and the lining. By placing the samples behind one another at home, you can immediately see how the combination will look in your interior.

A single pleat is a clean, modern curtain style where the fabric is gathered into a single fold at regular intervals. This creates a neat, understated look with the fabric evenly distributed across the curtain.

A double pleat uses two folds at each curtain hook, giving the curtain more fullness and a richer, more luxurious look than a single pleat.

Wave curtains use a specially designed track and gliders to create smooth, even waves in the fabric. The waves run evenly across the full width of the curtain, creating a clean and contemporary look.
